Portrait Drawing

The goal of portrait drawing is to create an accurate likeness of the sitter.   Portrait drawing is a challenge for both the artist and the sitter.  There is no room for error as there are expectations that need to be met by the artist.  There is a great need for accuracy with portraiture than any other artistic subject.

 

           

Stage 1: Blocking in the drawing.    Stage 2:  Light and shadow.    Stage3: Full range of tonal values.

Course Duration: 5 weeks

Place:  Melbourne Academy of Fine Art

            Hampton East

            Melbourne, Victoria

You will need to bring or you can purchase at the studio the following materials :

3B Lead pencil
